Last year I gave a talk to some school children about careers in construction.

Near the end of the talk I gave the kids three points to help them with their careers.

  1. Find a part of construction that you like and get good at it.
  2. Be helpful.
  3. Be enthusiastic (or at least look like it!).

I’ll never know if my advice was useful to them, but the same three points can be applied to continuous improvement:

  1. Find something that needs improving and stick with it until the results are amazing.
  2. Find a way to help improve the situation, even if you don’t know the full answer / solution.
  3. Keep smiling as you move past options that don’t work.

I’m writing this blog post before I turn the computer off tonight.

I have just finished my new online course, Making It Happen.

You can access it here.

It was created to help anyone that wants either an easier life, via continuous improvement, or for those that want to progress their careers. I believe that standing out in the workplace because of your results is the best way to develop a career.

So, if that sounds like something you need, click here.

Otherwise, keep smiling and keep plugging away!
